Moving Types
Exhibition
“Moving Types – Letters in Motion” is a technically innovative and interactive exhibition in which the history of animated letters is documented from the beginnings of the film until modern times. More than 300 historical and current, internationally outstanding examples of animated letters are presented in this exhibition, chronologically and according to their subjects. They range from early avant-garde films to modern music videos and art films. The visitors are enabled to participate actively in the creation of the exhibition by means of modern media. The exhibits are presented by means of illuminated cubes with QR codes that link to the individual film sequences. These clips are accessible via iPads that the visitors can borrow. The QR codes determine what the exhibit looks like. They seem to float among curvy constructions of steel wire. As is the case with the “Internet of Things”, the information can be accessed from a specific location.
