Rental Drone

navit is a drone rental service for leisure and entertainment facilities such as zoos and amusement parks. Putting a coin in the machine and then turning the handle, you can rent a drone for one day. There are two main functions in the navit: the navigation function and the camera function. If you enter a destination within the facility via the voice control system, the navit will fly towards this destination. You can then find what you were looking for by simply following the navit. The camera function can collaborate with smartphone apps to create a totally new shooting experience.

JURY STATEMENT

A well communicated and feasible concept. Drone technology is developing at a rapid pace and they are already marketed to be controlled using smartphones. The student's further development of the drones to be used to document people visiting public spaces such as theme parks or zoos aligns strongly with the current cultural obsession with selfies and using selfie-sticks. The idea of using the drone for directions is almost the next logical progression into a physical incarnation of Apple's Siri. Additionally the visual reference to coffee sweet dispensers brings a nostalgic association to the past in a highly futuristic concept.

WINNER STATEMENT

I am very honored to receive the iF STUDENT DESIGN AWARD. As a product designer, I’m very excited I can make a positive impact to the world!
