Obayashi Sendai Umeda Dormitory

In the spring of 2023, the Obayashi Corporation Sendai Umeda Dormitory located in Sendai City, Miyagi Prefecture, Japan was reborn as a hybrid wooden building with RC construction on the first floor of the common area and wooden on the second and third floors of the dormitory rooms. The CLT unit construction method, which uses domestic cedar for the main structural parts of the wooden structure, contributed to the realization of carbon neutrality. In order to respect the diversity of dormitory students and provide a rich living environment, we actively worked to create and manage spaces in line with the philosophy of well-being.
