Royal Philips Electronics

As part of Philips “connected planet” vision, wireless connectivity and online services are being developed that allow users to experience digital media (photos, movies, music, etc.) in various locations around the home and on the move. The Philips RC9800i Touch Screen Remote Control provides a central device to access that media wherever it is in the system, preview and pre-listen to the content and control how – and where – the output is experienced. The UI is task-based, with step-by-step guides to set-up and install the product in an intuitive way. The form factor emphasizes the “control panel” feel sought by consumers without surrendering superior one-handed feel and usability – this aspect was proved out via ergonomic studies.
