Handtherapeutic Videogame

It can be very hard to recover from an illness or injury. Especially when the regeneration process is tedious and requires the active participation of the patient, many people lack the necessary motivation. But what if you could recover simply by playing a game? Richard RIESE (Richard GIANT) is a hand-therapeutic video game that shows how that could work: With the help of the Leap Motion Controller, patients undergo therapeutic treatment while they are playing. The game is specifically designed for patients with various disabilities affecting their hand motor function. Case video: https://vimeo.com/81125264

JURY STATEMENT

"You play the game at home and don't even realize that this is actually therapy. It's fun and motivates children in particular to get well again quickly."
