Staatsschauspiel Dresden, Kleines Haus
Signage system
Staatsbetrieb Sächsisches Immobilien- und Baumanagement Niederlassung Dresden I
The conception of the signage of the “Kleines Haus” refers to the actor’s work, his relation with his text and the forming of his role through speech, voice, gestures and facial expression. The information elements are completed by punctuation marks, which seem like an invitation and a dialogue with the theater itself. The use of the two corporate types Neue Helvetica Extended and Renard Two Italic underlines this idea. Each letter on the wall in the public area is cut out of textile. Because of the material the letters appear slightly embossed. In association with the curtain the entrance of the auditorium is emphasized by red letters. In the area for the actors the color is directly applied on the wall.
