Strokewriter
Text input interface
Strokewriter
Strokewriter is a new method and also device for writing Hangul and Chinese characters. When a stroke is drawn using a stick in the same order as when writing a character by hand, CPU makes a prospective group of specific letters through its interpretation, and a letter is input through the process of selecting one among the prospective group. Unlike the QWERTY key board that has to be equipped with more than 26 mechanical components at the least, the new device has a merit of inputting about 4,000 letters of Hangul and 30,000 letters of Chinese characters only through one stick and four buttons.
iF Gold Statement
How this interface recognizes and deciphers Korean and Chinese characters is both astounding and interesting. For example, a Korean text can be entered using a remote control and is subsequently interpreted by the CPU. Since the written Korean language in particular is highly complex, this idea is very useful in order to decipher Korean or Chinese characters more easily. Very meaningful and worthy of an iF gold award
