Aerospace installation

BMW AG

The creation of an aerospace installation for BMW in Munich’s Airport Terminal II is intended to convey to the users something of the experience of travelling, the aspects of acceleration, speed, and a change of location awaiting them. Visual-kinetic interactivity: Franken Architekten have taken up the idea of a shifting image and transformed it into a structure composed of 360 different lamella mapped on both sides with a different image. In a parametric design process the form of the object is optimized for most effective visibility from a set of predefined hot spots. For passengers the image shifts as they walk by it, a visual-kinetic interactivity. The installation can express any number of stories that can be told via two images. The object has the impact of a short film, or rather an interactive narration in which the trajectory of the experience corresponds to the trajectory of travelling.
