The Morigin Project
Moringa against Dirty Water Diseases in Africa
The Morigin Project offers an organizational system focused on the sustainable cultivation of Moringa Oleifera trees in rural villages in Sub-Saharan Africa with the goal of supporting populations toward the development of health, social and economic conditions. The core of the system is a tropical plant called Moringa Oleifera. The chemical properties of the plant’s seeds offer an alternative, affordable and sustainable solution capable of counteracting and eliminate the reproduction of viruses and bacteria (e.g. Escherichia Coli) present in local water sources that cause severe cholera and intestinal infections.
Through rigorous research and experimentation, this design has successfully developed a practical and sustainable water purification solution for African. With clearly defined objectives and meticulous execution, this project distinguishes itself from comparable designs.
WINNER STATEMENTWinning the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD has left us speechless. The Morigin Project is a small project in development, but with a big goal that seems almost impossible to us. This recognition makes it increasingly tangible and helps us make a concrete positive impact on people.
