TREIBSEL - Strand der Dinge
Immersive Information Design Creating Awareness
The flotsam of a North Sea island is documented and staged with the help of new media in such an emotional way that even those uninterested in nature develop enthusiasm, understand the atmosphere, and are sensitized to the environmental problem of marine litter. Together with current table data, larger-than-life 3D scans of the finds in the form of point clouds are recomposed in virtual reality to create walk-in, informative, immersive spaces. This artistic, immersive, multi-sensory experience, which initially fascinates above all else, reaches a larger target group, attracts longer attention spans and stays fixed in the long-term memory.
I like the artistic value of this project a lot. Design solutions often result in more products, and in the end create more waste. It all starts with awareness and this project makes you experience.
WINNER STATEMENTIt is an honor to receive such a prestigious award for this personal project. On the one hand, the appreciation that comes with it confirms my approach and motivates me enormously to continue working in this field. On the other hand, it creates hope for nature and the sea.
