Meeting Chair / Table

Okamura Corporation

Up-Ring is a furniture series created on 3D printers and manufactured from biomass plastic that uses sugarcane as the main raw material, developed jointly between industry and academia (Okamura and Keio University), with the aim of achieving global warming reduction targets. This production method breaks away from conventional mold manufacturing through mass production by 3D printing without molds. Okamura also took on the challenge of using biomass plastics as the main raw material. Since biomass plastics are derived from sugarcane, that absorbs and traps CO2 in the process of growth, this also contributes to the reduction of CO2 emissions.
