Villa ensemble in Starnberg

Villa ensemble

The project aims to create a residential ensemble consisting of two units that avoids the appearance of a semi-detached house. Although the development plan expects a single building, the design cleverly creates the illusion of two independent units, which promotes individuality. The double garages on the street side connect the two 'house halves' to form a uniform villa ensemble. The hillside location provides natural lighting for the basement, which looks like a protruding plinth. This, in conjunction with the generous glazing as a tube on the upper floor, contributes to a sculptural design reminiscent of the shape of two reclining sphinxes
