Carovana Salvacibo TO
Carovana Salvacibo (Save Food Caravan) is a project started on April 2020, during the first lock-down caused by Covid 19 in Italy. The project is based on the idea to support group of people in need and decrease the food waste at the general market of Turin. The wholesale market allowed us to save big quantities of fresh food (around 1000 and 1500 kg per day). The saved food was, afterwards, distributed among 20 and 25 realities every week (since the project started more than 50 realities collaborated with the project). Once the food is given to the realities, these are donating to people in need identified previously.
