BMW K100RS

Initial sketch for the BMW K100RS motorcycle ca 1979. It was one of BMW's most successful models and on the market for around 10 years before being replaced. The screen aerofoil was joint patented. The air cooled 4-cylinder engine replaced the classic air cooled horizontal twin. It was designed around a modular system so that some models had common parts, reducing the number of components. The full sized model was later tested in Pininfarina's wind tunnel in Turin, Italy.
