Pick and place robot

The picker line TLM-F44 by Gerhard Schubert GmbH picks up smalls from a conveyor and places them in a tray. This high speed action is limited in performance by the weight of the robot. A consequent lightweight construction demands the use of high tech materials and maximum design space exploitation. The chosen manufacturing method allowed a smooth design and therefore an optimal distribution of forces and a maximum of stiffness. The gradient cross section of the arms with the spherically joints is adapted to the desired strength similar to human arms. The chosen materials as well as the design language are novel in the field of manufacturing plants and reflect the diffusion of new materials in industrial goods. The net shape manufacturing technology assures best quality surface without finishing and a maximum gain in system performance.
