Raw Harvest
Environmentally and Socially Sustainable Solution
RawHarvest addresses food deserts in Savannah, a consequence of gentrification and urbanization, limiting access to nutritious food. Tailored for low-income areas, this community-focused grocery store transcends geographical boundaries with an adaptable and scalable design. Beyond fresh groceries, RawHarvest serves as a blueprint by incorporating flexible elements: a daily refillery, farm-to-table restaurant, youth area, and space for local businesses. This commitment reflects a dedication to sustainable, community-oriented solutions, countering food insecurity challenges in diverse settings.
This project helps provide access to quality food for vulnerable populations. The project brings an important solution from an economic and social point of view. On the one hand, it provides quality food for those who need it, while on the other it opens up marketing channels for local producers.
WINNER STATEMENTWinning the iF DESIGN STUDENT AWARD for Raw Harvest is an incredible honor. Raw Harvest symbolizes hope and resilience and I am deeply grateful to iF DESIGN for supporting my journey towards a healthier, more equitable world.
