Heritage tourism gamified experience design

Chongqing University

We propose a gamification experience design strategy with the goal of "participant learning" to address the problems of traditional cultural heritage tourism experiences, such as the lack of interesting journey, scattered cultural resources, and the lack of user experience in a single way. The gamification mechanism is designed to enhance the sense of play in the user journey experience. The design study focuses on how to make the user's journey experience more enjoyable so that they can learn about the local history and culture (i.e. gamified learning), with the aim of achieving a positive outcome that is both educational and enjoyable.
