Barbecue Service Concept

Owning comparatively seldom-used products and the massive use of disposable items are no longer appropriate. In a future society that is more intrigued by the idea of collecting impressions and experiences rather than accumulating material possessions, "Stadtküche" allows a spontaneous, varied and environmentally acceptable barbecue in urban spaces. It is the first concept to offer fully prepared food packages including all necessary barbecue accessories. The innovative service concept enables users to experience versatile barbecue dishes in public green spaces without leaving any traces or harming the environment.

JURY STATEMENT

Stadtküche is a holistic idea. It is not only a product but presents a system, which makes it functionally feasible and could be a viable business idea. It creates an opportunity of revitalizing green urban areas and it also solves the problem of waste.

WINNER STATEMENT

When I heard about winning the iF STUDENT DESIGN AWARD 2016 I felt very happy that my thesis had received this honor. I consider the iF Student Design Award a confirmation of my concept idea, an incentive for my future work and a motivation to pursue the idea of establishing a new, environment-friendly barbecue tradition.
