Japanese sweets and tea house

This shop shares a restored Japanese building with the coffee house on the right. Meticulous design accentuates its characteristics by following the preserved architectural context, spatiality, design and materials. A bar integrates the functions of dessert and drink making, presentation, and service within the 215 sq ft space. Integral design for the existing environment reduces the impacts of new materials and objects. Newly developed FRP laminated glass maintains the visual transparency of the original building. A porch flanked by translucent panels leads eyesight to focus on the bar at the entrance.
