The innovation is a solar powered cold storage preservation technology that extends shelf life of perishable crops from 5 days to 21 days while maintaining texture, flavor, and nutrients. This solution is solving the problem of postharvest losses. According to the UN Food and Agriculture Organization, 30-50 percent of food produced. is lost before it reaches the market which affects food security and contributes to carbon emissions. Our innovation is helping farmers rise out of poverty and become financially stable, providing green jobs for young people, promote food security and reduce environmental footprints from food waste.
