SUGIMOTO
Restaurant
Sugimoto
Sugimoto is an omakase sushi restaurant started by the young owner and the young chef, quietly situated in the middle of Bukchon, where the tradition of Korean culture breathes. Named after Hiroshi Sugimoto, the master of modern black and white photography, the space is inspired by the contrast and continuity of black ink in a single stroke of Korean calligraphy called "Nong-dam," meaning light and shade. The black and white textures are present in the reception and two different restaurant dining areas, highlighting the contrasting the combination of old and new energy in the people and the site.
